Many LDS members shared their testimony and responded to questions as part of the nearly 500 comments on Elder Holland’s Youtube video posted last week. I thought you might be interested in some of the comments left by non-members, especially the first one. You can see the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tz3rggCnhxQ

“I must say, what Holland is saying her makes incredible sense and something about this video really strikes a cord with me in a way that nothing else ever has. I’ve been to many churches and have heard many sermons, and if they all use the Bible I can’t see how they all come out so different. If this Book of Mormon is indeed an addition to his word, then God sure knows what he’s doing to correct where we’ve been going wrong with Christianity.”

“Didn’t Christ Himself know something of ridicule, religious persecution, and oppression? All the Mormons to believe whatever stuff they want, and we can believe what we want. Isn’t that what a free will is for?”

“I’m not a follower of the Mormon teachings, but I will say I’ve never been condemned for my personal beliefs by any members of the faith.”

“I used to be LDS, but when i hit 19 years of age left it my family is still mostly all LDS. All i have to say is although i might not believe in god, LDS people are the most kindest loving and funny people I’ve ever met and they rock! Just fyi reason saying i left and i do not believe in god is, well, Just because they believe differently does not make them any less of awesome ”

“So do mormons read the regular bible (King James, NIV,etc…) also?”

“mormons101,thank you for posting this video, I know what my personal experiences have been with you mormons but I didn’t mean to jump on the “mormon bashing bandwagon”, I sincerely believe we all have an opinion but I truly do not mean to put down other peoples relationship with GOD! If it works for you all then Blessings to you all, and I am glad you will block those who use profanity!”

(MrJackGrayson, a LDS member on YouTube, shared the video with over 200+ of his non-LDS friends. Here are a few response from his friends.)

” Totally beautiful words. No matter what ones faith is, to believe in God is the answer. Thank you MrJackGrayson for the share. Very inspiring. Sherry”

“As a Roman Catholic I have no problem with the Mormon Church. As Christians our respective faiths take us ultimately in the same direction I believe. Many thanks to MrJackGrayson for sharing.”

A few months ago I was asked by Mailis and Hanne_Line if there could be a site created for LDS members from Finland and Norway, respectfully. I created a Finnish and Norwegian forum and chat room for them on LDS.net, and Mailis and Hanne_Line agreed to be the moderators. Mailis and Hanne are such wonderful women, and it has been so amazing to have them be a part of the site. I really appreciate all their dedication and effort they have done to build up the information for the Church in their native language. It’s been such a wonderful experience to see the feedback from having these forums available to members and investigators of those countries.

Because of the Finnish and Norwegian sections of the website, I regularly get messages from people in those countries wondering where a Church is located and how to find out more. Mailis has currently been talking to two investigators from Finland, TMS1 and Tytto_19. TMS1 really wants to be baptized, and Tytto_19 went to Church with Mailis last Sunday. It is so neat to see the missionary work that is happening everyday on LDS.net.
